PM Narendra Modi says,” the goal of self-reliance is prominent to India in the present time; Addressed the Naval Innovation and Indigenisation Organisation (NIIO) Seminar ‘Swavlamban’  in New Delhi:-

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Addressed the Naval Innovation and Indigenisation Organisation (NIIO) Seminar ‘Swavlamban’  in New Delhi on Monday 18 July 2022, to bring together leading stakeholders to work on a roadmap toward being self-reliant (आत्मनिर्भर) in the Defence sector. PM Modi Noted,” Why did India become an importer rather than an exporter to the world in the Defence field. PM Modi adds that from 2014, the government worked in a mission mode in every sector to be self-reliant (). He said that in the last 8 years government has not only increased the defence budget apart from also ensured that this budget is useful for Defence manufacturing in India and enhanced the Defence ecosystem, tackle basic problems and creates the right environment for innovation. In addition to the conversation, Defence manufacturing is getting a much-needed impulsion and the results are for the world to see.

Mr Modi signifies that the “Whole of Nation Approach” is needed for the country’s security in the demand of time. This is precisely why we are modernising our national security apparatus and weapons. In auxiliary to the traditional security challenges, there are new frontiers as well which need to be addressed.

During ‘Swavlamban’ PM Modi ingeminate, our commitment to boost innovation and indigenisation of the defence sector. In the 21st century, self-reliance in the Defence sector is very crucial for India and the goal of self-reliance is prominent to India in the present time. As a part of Azadi ka Mahotsav NIIO in coexistence with the Defence innovation organises, focusing on including 75 new innovations and technologies into the Indian Navy, this program is named SPRINT.
