Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Bundelkhand Expressway in UP tomorrow

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Bundelkhand expressway(296 km long four-lane e-way) which will connect the Chitrakoot with the Lucknow-Agra near Etawah, and it has been completed within 28 months before its schedule of finishing the Project. In February 2020 PM Modi laid the foundation stone of this project and it was constructed at the cost of around Rs. 14,850 crores.

Chief Minister of UP Yogi Adityanath says, “Not even two expressways had been completed in Uttar Pradesh in the first 70 years since Independence. With a series of expressways, including the Delhi-Meerut expressway, the present government of double engine growth in the state has fulfilled a decades-old demand of the people of NCR (National Capital Region) and western Uttar Pradesh”.

Prime Minister’s Office said, “The project is significant as the government has ambitious plans to boost the economic activity of the Bundelkhand region with this expressway project. In the next step, the government plans to develop industrial hubs along the expressway in Banda and Jalaun districts”. It added that “PM Modi has arrived UP to inaugurate Bundelkhand Expressway Kaitheri village in Orai tehsil of Jalaun district at around 11:30 AM on 16 July 2022”.

PMO also said that “The government has been committed to enhancing connectivity across the country, a key feature of which has been the work towards improvement in road infrastructure”. It also said that “Along with improving connectivity in the region, the Bundelkhand Expressway will also give a major boost to thousands of jobs for the local people.

This Expressway includes 18 big bridges along with four rail bridges and 286 minor bridges. This will also have six toll plazas, nine flyovers, seven ramp plazas, and 224 underpasses. The PMO said that “the entire project was divided into six packages, and developers were selected for each of these packages with a time-bound target for completion of the project”.

On this expressway, 7 lakh trees will be planted and provision for rainwater harvesting will be placed on every 500 meters by taking the recommendations from the Ground Water Department. Most work of the project will be completed during Covid-19 and provide employment to the many workers during the pandemic.
