I2U2 Summit: PM Modi to participate in I2U2 Summit Today | Current Affairs Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to participate on Thursday in the first-ever I2U2 leader’s summit virtually along with the leaders of Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States.

I2U2 Summit: The main objective of I2U2 is to encourage joint investments in six mutually identified areas such as water, energy, transportation, space, health, and food security

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be participating in the first I2U2 (India-Israel-UAE-USA) Leaders Virtual Summit with the presidents of the countries, Israel Prime Minister Yair Lapid, the UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and US President Joe Biden. These leaders will discuss the possible joint projects to strengthen the economic partnership in trade in trade and investment in the respective regions and beyond the regions within the framework of I2U2 as well as the other common areas of mutual interest involved.

For businessmen and workers, these projects may serve as a model for economic cooperation and offer opportunities in the future. This meeting was held on 18th October last year between the Foreign Ministers of four countries at that time the I2U2 concept was conceptualized. To discuss the problem of possible areas of cooperation each country regularly used the Sherpa-level interactions.

The main aim of I2U2 is to encourage joint investments in six mutually identified areas such as water, energy, transportation, space, health, and food security. It is expertise to help modernize the infrastructure of the countries, and low carbon development pathways for the industries, improve public health across the country, promote the development of critical emerging and green technologies in the country, and mobilize private sector capital.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in a statement, “Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will be participating in an I2U2 Summit, along with Prime Minister of Israel Yair Lapid, President of the UAE Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and President of the USA Joseph R. Biden”. MEA also said that “Each country also has Sherpa-level interactions regularly to discuss the possible areas of cooperation”.

The MEA also added that “It intends to mobilize private sector capital and expertise to help modernize the infrastructure, low carbon development pathways for our industries, improve public health, and promote the development of critical emerging and green technologies”. As this is mentioned above that its aim is to encourage joint investments in six mutually identified areas such as water, energy, transportation, space, health, and food security.
